Static eliminator cleans up sensitive
bottles
By the time co-extruded blow moulded barrier bottles reach packaging machines, they are heavily statically charged, but an eliminator quickly removes particle contamination.
RPC Containers manufactures co-extrusion blow moulded barrier bottles for the food industry Part of the multinational RPC Group, the Corby plant employs over 120 staff manufacturing multilayer containers that provide long-shelf life

Static eliminator company relaunches website
Meech Static Eliminators has launched its new-look website, giving rapid access to information on the full range of Meech solutions.
These are available in standard sizes as well as custom-mouldings for oxygen-sensitive products such as ketchups and cooking sauces.
The processes used to manufacture and transport the multilayer bottles around the plant cause a build up of static to occur in the containers themselves such that, by the time they reach the packaging machine prior to leaving the factory they are carrying a considerable static charge.
Left untreated this static charge leads to problems with the packaging process as the charged bottles either attract or repel each other, resulting in them toppling over and even falling off the line and disrupting the packing process.

Eliminate static in packaging
Leeds-based company Packaging Options, provider of innovative packaging solutions to the UK and Irish markets, recommends the use of Meech static elimination products to all its customers.
Quickly realising that these undesirable effects were due to the effects of static, RPC called on Meech Static Eliminators to discuss possible solutions.
Engineering Manager William Keeney explains, "One of the other RPC plants had Meech equipment installed and they recommended it.
We were impressed with the technical knowledge of Meech's representative and the solution he proposed has worked extremely well." The automated packaging machine covers a floor area of approximately 6m x 3m and includes several processes that themselves induce additional static into the bottles before they eventually emerge at the far end, fully palletised, wrapped and ready to go.
Therefore Meech's static elimination solution comprises a static eliminator bar at the entry to the packaging machine and then several additional bars placed at critical positions during the packaging process, to ensure that static is eliminated by the time the bottles arrive at the final location allowing them to packed, regimented and upright, in layers on the pallet.
William Keeney concludes, "Naturally, with food packaging, we are working to the highest standards.
We produce technically advanced products for household name customers who expect nothing but the best.
This means our bottles must arrive at our clients' premises in perfect condition and so our packaging process is crucial. Request a free brochure from Meech International ...
The incorporation of the Meech static eliminator bars into the packaging machine has helped us provide our customers with the quality of product they demand.".
