Armstrong Optical to represent Precitec Optronik
Precitec Optronik of Rodgau, Germany have appointed Armstrong Optical of Northampton to represent its range of 3D surface profiling systems and sensors for thickness measurement.
With effect from today the company, with its 15 employees, will be operating under the name Jenoptik unique-mode.
Jenoptik had acquired 100% of the stock in the company that specializes in miniaturized optical systems from the venture capital company DEWB.
Jenoptik unique-mode develops, manufactures and markets micro-optic systems, in particular diode laser systems with micro-optic beam shaping.
These are used in medical technology, printing technology, measurement technology, micro-material processing as well as for pumping solid state lasers.
The company's core area of expertise lies in combining the areas of micro-optics, micro-system technology and micro-assembly (micro optical design and engineering-mode).
Jenoptik unique-mode will therefore primarily strengthen the development and manufacture of high-power diode lasers within the technology group.
Unique-mode, the technology start-up company, was founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institut fuer Angewandte Optik und Feinmechanik (Applied Optics and Precision Mechanics).
DEWB took a stake in the new company during the year in which it was founded and at last held 100% of the shares.
Over the last five years unique-mode has grown and in the fiscal year 2005 generated sales of nearly EUR 2 million.
To be able to continue growing a strategic partner was needed.
Jenoptik unique-mode will be exhibiting under the Jenoptik Group umbrella for the very first time at the optics trade fair OPTATEC from June 20-23, 2006 in Frankfurt/Main.
In addition, at this trade fair the Jena-based technology group will be giving its first presentation of, amongst others, F-theta scan lenses for laser micro-material processing.
These lenses enable laser beams to be focused in such a way as to enable them to cut structures within the micrometer range with precision into the material to be processed.
Jenoptik will exhibit an additional comprehensive selection of products and technologies at OPTATEC, including micro-optics and various plastics optics systems.
