Jiskoot has developed a solution for the blending of heavy crude oil in the Gulf of Mexico for Bergesen Worldwide Offshore, using the latest InSight blender system.
Use of two sampling cabinets minimises their sizes and on-site assembly.
Both cabinets are internally heated to eliminate the need for trace heating or lagging on site.
Sampling accuracy is ensured by the large Byscoop sample extractor which has a 'Swans Neck' entry head specially designed to give an even streamline profile to the entry and prevent any preferential bias caused by fluid constituents having different specific gravities.
The Byscoop entry size is 33.5mm which accelerates the flow in the loop to prevent any component fall-out and reduce volume/time lag.
Two 1in x 1in centrifugal pumps in the pump skid are complete with 11kW motors and each is sized for 100% duty.
The daily sampling cabinet has a Jiskoot 210P pneumatic cell sampler with a receiver and two 4-litre constant pressure cylinders fitted with magnetic proximity sensors sending a full signal for the control equipment to halt sampling.
The weekly sampling cabinet has two 210P cell samplers, the second one for standby duty, and is fitted with manual lockable instrument valves to allow routing of the sample to either the daily or weekly cabinet receivers.
Drain points fitted to all cell samplers facilitate maintenance.
All process equipment and pipework are rated ANSI Class 900 RTJ, except for flanges of 2in and below being Class 1500.
The system will comply with ISO 3171, API 8.2 and IP 6.2 when installed in a well-mixed pipeline in accordance with these standards.
