Injectable packings reduce downtime
Three new injectable compression packings will save valuable downtime when repacking glands on centrifugal pumps and other rotary plant, and can also overcome sealing problems on worn shafts.

Low-friction sealing rings reduce valve torque
Low-friction sealing rings are designed to reduce significantly the torque needed for efficient valve operation - effectively cutting power consumption and allowing use of smaller actuators.
Called Injectable Black, White and Yellow, they are formulated for use with a wide range of fluids including cooling water, aqueous solutions, oils and solvents.
Their homogeneous blends of fibres/fillers, lubricant particles and grease prove effective with abrasive media in the mineral, metallurgical and pulp and paper processing sectors.
Using a hand-operated injector, the products are pressure-injected through a valve directly into a gland housing between two end rings of conventional packing.
The gland follower is adjusted to compress the material and form a seal.
Accurate control of leakage levels means that a separate flush system is unnecessary.
As these injectable packings readily conform to fill almost any void, they are particularly effective in forming compression seals when conditions are less than mechanically perfect.
Moreover, a gland can be easily repacked by pressure injection without stripping the housing.
Injectable Black is based on graphite fibres, Injectable White contains PTFE fibres and solids, and Injectable Yellow has aramid fibres and PTFE solids.
Between them, the three products are compatible with media in the pH range 0-14, including acids and alkalis.
They come in 2kg tubs complete with full fitting instructions.
Injector kits are also available. Request a free brochure from James Walker and Co ...
