Laser cutter loads and feeds own pipe

A Mazak Laser product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Nov 17, 2004

Pipe laser cutting systems automatically load, feed, laser cut and unload mill-length and structural pipe, round, square, rectangular, and triangular sections and structural beams.

The Fabri Gear 150 tube and pipe laser systems process round, square, rectangular, and triangular pipe as well as I- and H-beams, C-channel, and angle iron.

They laser-cut holes, contours, angles and bevels with only one setup per part.

Thanks to the 5-axis cutting head, Fabri Gear cuts very accurate connections that revolutionize the design of many components.

3-l laser machines for long material - different types and sizes of Fabri Gear are available.

The biggest Fabri Gear Versatile (FG300) can proceed up to 300 mm diameter and 200mm square.

The maximum length of the cut parts varies from 8m with the standard machine till 15m for the XL version.

Fabri Gear Bundle 150 can proceed tubes up to 150mm diameter.

All Mazak Fabri Gear are equipped with the 5-axis cutting head, unlike most of the other laser tube cutting machines on the market.

This Japanese bridge is entirely realized from tubes and profiles accurately cut on MAZAK 3D pipe cutting machines.

It is assembled without any screw, welding nor glue.

Create the Mini Chair on the Fabri Gear 150 - the Fabri Gear is controlled by an 11-Axis simultaneous CNC to synchronize the 6-axis cutting movements.

Such system requires a very sophisticated CAD/CAM system to make the programming User Friendly.

A alive demonstration was organized on the Mazak stand at EuroBLECH, which allowed the visitor to program a mini chair and see it cut on the Fabri Gear 150.

It was amazingly simple to do it and impressive to see how many hundreds of blocs are required to control the cutting movements.
