Global digital electronic component manufacturer selects advanced standard document management to harness corporate knowledge and accelerate time to market.

MatrixOne, a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain, has announced that Philips Optical Storage, a business group of Royal Philips Electronics has selected MatrixOne's Matrix10 PLM environment as the backbone of its global, collaborative document management system This deployment, which builds upon an existing MatrixOne implementation, will provide Philips Optical Storage with better distribution of and access to business critical documents

Philips Optical Storage develops and manufactures industry-leading optical storage products for sale through Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) channels worldwide.

The product portfolio include drives, subassemblies and components related to CD and DVD products for the consumer recording, gaming, automotive infotainment and PC storage markets.

The company will use MatrixOne Document Central as the standard document management application on approximately 2,000 desktops across their global organisation.

MatrixOne Document Central will serve as the enabling technology for distributing business critical information across their organisation.

With MatrixOne Document Central, Philips Optical Storage will be able to streamline its information gathering, publishing and approval processes and organise, find and share files collaboratively among global teams.

MatrixOne Document Central will fulfill a global library function within Philips Optical Storage so that all documents can be easily searched, retrieved, reviewed, approved and stored between every worldwide location.
