MatrixOne Delivers Support for Linux
Enhanced Support Provides Flexibility and Lower Total Cost of Ownership
MatrixOne, a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain, has announced support for RedHat Enterprise Linux AS, version 2.1.
on leading Intel platforms.
With this capability, MatrixOne is building upon its ongoing commitment of support for open technologies and is providing its customer base, many of whom are increasingly relying on the Linux open-source operating system, with additional flexibility and lower total cost of ownership.
"As a company focused on customer success, our goal is to provide customers with solutions that directly map to their needs.
The Linux platform has established itself as a secure and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting global organisations.
As an increasing number of companies are incorporating the Linux platform as part of their product development processes, providing support for the platform was something we identified as critical to ensuring the success of these customers," said Sam Zawaideh, MatrixOne's vice president of products and solutions.
"We are excited to now be able to offer them this alternative to support their overall PLM deployment." MatrixOne PLM solutions enable companies to address some of today's critical product-related challenges including managing global development programs, enabling interactive design and development with key customers and partners and effectively leveraging outsourced design and manufacturing to drive down costs.
As a result of Matrix10's standards-based, open environment customers will be able to quickly and easily implement their PLM process on the Linux platform.
According to the September 2003 report "Open Source Code Modifiers Feel Confident" from Forrester Research, 72 percent of firms that were interviewed for the report plan to use more open source software as an alternative solution for the Intel platform, citing quality and value as key reasons.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS is the core operating system and infrastructure enterprise Linux solution for mission-critical applications.
It supports the largest commodity-architecture servers with up to 16 CPUs and 64GB of main memory and is positioned as the ultimate solution for large departmental and datacenter servers, providing customers a superior combination of value and performance.
