Degreasing drawn copper and aluminium tubes

A John Neale product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 14, 2006

Two products added to a range of low hazard trichloroethylene alternatives are for the degreasing of copper and aluminium tubes - even long lengths of up to 13m.

John Neale has added two new products to its range of low hazard trichloroethylene alternatives.

These solvents have been specifically designed for the degreasing of copper and aluminium tubes.

Copper tube and Aluminium tubes are typically drawn using lubricants containing olefin polymers, these olefin polymers are difficult to remove using modified alcohols as solvents, and these modified alcohols are one of the key alternatives to trichloroethylene in our current range and available on the market.

Working with a range of copper tube lubricants and aluminium tube lubricants John Neale have developed two solvents which fully dissolve these soils and therefore are able to give excellent degreasing performance on aluminium and copper tubes, even long lengths of up to 13m.

Solvent 901 is a non-VOC, bio-degradable, low hazard solvent which can be used in large systems without the requirement for hermetically sealing the equipment.

This offers a relatively low cost option to change from trichloroethylene in large systems.

It is out-side the solvent emissions directive (SED) as it is not a volatile organic compound.

Solvent 906 is a bio-degradable, low hazard, non-flammable labeled, faster evapourating solvent which can be used in hermetically enclosed systems.

This can be used to replace trichloroethylene and modified alcohol based solvents in these systems to give more adequate degreasing performance.

This product is a VOC and so is covered by the SED.

John Neale has partnered with equipment manufacturers to be able to offer turn-key solutions to your degreasing needs.

We can supply small to very large systems including hermetically sealed systems.

We can offer different ways to recycle solvents on-site including specially developed micro-filtration and distillation.

John Neale is different to other solvent suppliers as we can tailor our solvents where necessary to meet the specific requirements of our customers.
