John Neale has supplied Multiform with Superdraw ST2000, an end-forming lubricant to improve the tool-life and finish on a difficult end-forming operation.
The end form was for an automotive application and was being formed as a subcontract job on previously bent tube.
The tolerances were very tight and the operation was almost ironing the metal, which was stainless steel.
Multiform had previously tried several coatings on the tools to prolong their life and reduce pickup, but none of these had worked.
With the introduction of the lubricant, the production of the part ran smoothly and efficiently.
