Revamped sheet metal working centre is
faster
A completely revamped sheet metal folding machine features highly dynamic backlash free servo gear motors that give better accuracy while operational speeds have been raised 30%.
Reinhardt Maschinenbau, known as RAS have installed approaching 50 fully automated sheet metal folding centres around the world, and at the recent EuroBlech 2002 Exhibition in Hannover they unveiled the second-generation machine The RAS 79.22-2 has the same 2160 x 1500 x 2mm capacity, but has many new features making it faster and more versatile

Wanting to increase its sheet metal working capacity , privately-owned, GBP2m turnover Westwood Automation, Plymouth, purchased a GBP500,000 RAS CNC Multibend Center 79.26.
The RAS development team think that good is never good enough and have completely revamped the machine with, for example, highly dynamic backlash free servo gear motors giving better accuracy and 30% higher speeds, new dual drive tool changer, automatic clamp folding tools with integrated tab and offline tools as well as improved and faster infeed and outfeed systems.
All these improvements give a really flexible and super-fast folding machine with a compact yet easily maintained layout.
As RAS put it, "this machine is a workhorse and a thoroughbred rolled into one" with which operators can confidently solve the most extreme production challenges.
