Production control interfaced with
accounting

Latest version of the Jobshop advanced production planning and control system now interfaces seamlessly with Castle Computers' Exchequer software system.

Jobshop will release the latest version of its high capability manufacturing and production control system at the IT Showcase Scotland event I will be held at the Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland on September 12, 2007

Jobshop and Castle Computers are sharing a stand to demonstrate the seamless integration of the Jobshop production control and Exchequer software accounting systems.

Jobshop interfaced with the Exchequer accounts system provides an excellent tool for them to take full control of their processes to reduce lead times, cut costs and improve cash flow".

* Improved costs control - faster operation and improved cost control capabilities are the key enhancements in Jobshop 9.3.1.

Jobshop 9.3.1 now incorporates an interface to Configur8or - industry-leading software for product and service configuration, estimating, quoting, specifying, ordering and manufacturing.

The integration will provide an easy-to-use yet powerful and comprehensive business management system.

It is particularly strong in the areas of shop floor data collection, MRP, scheduling, reporting and financial management.

It enables organisations of all sizes to harness the full potential of their manufacturing resources.

The link to Configur8or streamlines Jobshop's operation and reinforces its ability to reduce users' operating costs and increase their profitability by producing visual estimates for custom jobs.

Further new functionality introduced in Jobshop 9.3.1 includes the following.

* Enhanced contract costing and the ability to analyse project costs under as many cost centres as required.

* Compare actual to budgeted expenditure and accurately forecast costs to project completion.

* Sales EDI a fully customisable system for importing sales orders.

This feature will be of enormous benefit to customers who regularly import large sales schedules.

* The planning board in Jobshop has been completely rewritten for 9.3.1 with a Windows look and feel to make it as user-friendly as possible.

Designed and developed using a powerful 4GL programming tool kit, Jobshop is a true Windows application, providing customers with an intuitive and fully definable desktop environment.

'Drag and drop' commands and Windows Explorer type Treeview BOM displays allow the fast and accurate creation and checking of all levels within the product structure, along with instant updating of Bills of Material to accommodate customer-specified options.

Jobshop also features hot key searches, rapid 'drill down' tools for instant access to required data, and the power of Crystal Reports to enable analyses to be customised quickly and easily to individual user requirements.
