Typically three or four days long, the training courses use a mixture of classroom work, practical demonstrations and exercises to train the operators.

"We start with theory tests, which train operators to be aware of health and safety at all times whilst using a forklift, with the remaining part of the week focusing on practical tests like general manoeuvring and becoming familiar with pallet racking.
Accredited trained professionals assist at all times.
Successful operators are awarded the relevant lift truck licence".
Simon Rudiger, a recycling coordinator at the Christian Foundation in Milton Keynes said: "We want to encourage and provide training for young people aged 17 and 18 who struggle to find full time employment without qualifications.
