German CNC cylindrical grinding machine building group, Junker, exports 10% of the machines to the USA, 40% to Asia and another 40% to EU member countries.

With its four operational divisions Automotive, Metalworking, Tooltec and Services, Junker offers proven and innovative solutions for almost all fields of precision grinding In the business year 2004, the Junker group recorded a growth of 44%

At eleven locations, more than 1,000 employees engaged in development, distribution and production are contributing to the success of their company, which combines the strengths of a medium-sized company with the capacities of a global player.

The global orientation of the company becomes evident when having a look at the export rates: 10% of the machines are exported to the USA, 40% to Asia and another 40% to EU member countries.

The consistent international implementation of basic functions such as procurement, production, distributions and service fits well with these figures.

The Junker Representative Office in Shanghai was opened in March 2003, the Representative Office in China's capital Beijing followed in February 2004.

In the Waigaoqiao free trade zone of Shanghai, the Asian-Pacific Service Centre for issues such as repair and training was established at the beginning of 2005.

The Junker premiere of the year is the new Evolution2 machine platform.

It is not the grinding technology which has changed but the constructive environment.

The consistent modular design for all machine sizes simplifies planning, operation and service.

Evolution2 lowers operating costs and opens new perspectives for the future as regards machine extensions and conversions.

* Automotive division - Junker offers strategies for automotive applications, particularly for motor, injection and gear, that are fit for the future.

These include the cylindrical and non-cylindrical grinding of crankshafts, camshafts and gearshafts as well as the fine finishing of the most diverse mechanical and mechatronical precision parts.

The spectrum ranges from flexible individual machines to the planning, delivery and handling of complete turnkey projects.

Meanwhile, almost all renown automotive manufacturers rely on the customised Junker processing concepts.

The leading position Junker holds in the German automotive industry has positive effects particularly on the Chinese market.

Primary customers of Junker are Chery Automobile (21 machines) and Shanghai Volkswagen (16 machines).

Further customers are FAW - Volkswagen Automotive, Wuxi Weifu Group Co, Dalian Diesel Engine Works, Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co and many more.

Currently, eleven machines for the complete processing of crankshafts have been sold to India.

One of the Junker competence fields is the complete processing of components in only one chucking.

This technique combines high process reliability and systematic cost reductions with little handling expenditures and short cycles times.

In the Automotive division,Junker can provide comprehensive references for the conceptual design and realisation of production lines.

Upon request, Junker also acts as general contractor for the complete full automation solution down to the line's acceptance, including the coordination of sub-suppliers.

As a competence centre for development works and system solutions for the automotive and the automotive supplying industry, Junker can furnish excellent references.

* Tooltec division - the Junker Tooltec division offers high-performance production machines for the production of tap drills, spiral drills, milling cutters, reamers and circular saw blades.

Whether bulk or limited-lot production, the machines are highly precise, economical and reliable.

Especially in Asia, whose market is successfully penetrated by Junker, a nice growth is recorded in the field of cutting tool production.

* Metalworking division - for application at contract manufacturers, small suppliers and medium-sized companies, the Junker Metalworking product portfolio contains ideal production machines.

They provide high flexibility at low operating costs and maximum processing quality at high output rates for both conventional grinding operations and high-speed processing with CBN diamond grinding wheels.

* Services division - the services of this operational division are divided into three categories: In the Training service section, customers will find all services required for fast installation, safe operation and efficient production.

To put it more precisely: training and information options for operators, programmers, maintenance staff and customer's service personnel.

The Maintain service section offers sophisticated servicing concepts and, providing preventive and reactive services, ensures that Junker machines convince with maximum availability for many years.

Last but not least, the Assist service section: These services offered by Junker aim at an increased production output of an exisiting system on the basis of optimisation and modernisation.

* Quality always comes out on top - today, the Junker group produces more than 21 grinding machine types.

Junker research and engineering is based in Nordrach, Germany, as well as in the Czech development centres.

All company parts are certified in accordance with the latest DIN standards for quality assurance.
