Thin anodized aluminum reference sample
available
A new reference material for glow discharge optical emission spectrometry is intended specifically for the analysis of thin anodized aluminum.
Reference samples are critical for the accurate analysis of materials As new materials become available sometimes the limiting factor for quantitative analysis is the availability of a suitable reference material

Scanning performed very quickly
Scanning system has novel scanning hardware that enables the image pixel size to be chosen to match features of interest enabling optimised mapping speeds.
For this reason, Jobin Yvon has developed a new reference material for glow discharge optical emission spectrometry specifically for the analysis of thin anodized aluminum.
The aluminum is electropolished before the anodization so that the interface AlOx/Al is well defined and can be used to optimize the resolution of the instrument while setting the control parameters for analysis.
In addition, a thin Chromium layer of 2 nm is present in the oxide layer providing a second optimization control point.
The sample allows the check and control of the cleanliness of the GD lamp by following the Carbon and Sodium signals and the VUV sensitivity through the Oxygen ratio between the oxide layer and the aluminum matrix.
It provides for approximately 20 spots with a 4mm anode.
The reference sample for the GD-Profiler series of Glow Discharge OES instruments is available at Jobin Yvon using part number 46 011 130.
