Dispensing and coating programmed off-line

A Kaisertech product story

Software provides off-line programming of the PCB coating process for the Dima HC conformal coating systems, while an earlier board is being processed.

Kaisertech can now offer new software to provide off-line programming of the coating process for the Dima HC conformal coating systems.

While the standard integrated camera of the HC series coating and dispensing machines can already be used for programming, it has prevented the operator having adequate access to find the correct coating positions.

Now, off-line programming of boards can be achieved by taking a picture of a board that needs to be coated and opening this picture in the Hybrid Coater software.

Utilising fiducials to recognise the position of a board it is now possible to do the same thing off-line by using the fiducials of the board's picture.

Because the picture is exactly sized and positioned, a coating program can be created exactly as if the machine itself was being used.

The main advantage is that while the machine is coating boards a new board can be programmed off-line at the same time.

The HC units are suitable for prototypes and small runs and for larger runs of complicated products.

They can be used in combination with a variety of dispensing or spray valves to draw lines, apply dam and fill applications or spray conformal coating over a 600mm x 600mm work area.

The HC-100 is a 3-axis system while the HC-200 is a 4-axis one.

Each can handle up to four different tools and these can include dispense valves, spray valves grippers and other units.
