Saw cuts 70mm diameter bar in under 15s

A Kaltenbach product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 24, 2006

A high volume, straight cutting circular sawing system performs rapid, accurate straight cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, with a cutting cycle of under 15s for 70mm diameter bar.

The Kaltenbach KMR 100 AP high volume, straight cutting circular sawing system, is designed for rapid, accurate straight cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, with a full cutting cycle of less than 15s for a 70mm diameter bar, for example.

Cutting capacity is up to 100mm diameter or 80mm square with the KMR 100 AP utilising either HSS or TCT, 370mm diameter blades.

The saw is deal for high volume sawing applications, typically for the automotive sector, stockholders or sub-contractors with continuous batch cutting requirements.

The KMR uses renowned Kaltenbach circular sawing technology, with the cutting speed, accuracy and finish assisted by sawing stabilisers on both sides of the saw blade and horizontal clamping both sides of the cut.

Automatic saw blade withdrawal away from the cut surface prior to the return stroke, helps ensure the best possible cut finish.

Two new options provide an added production capability.

An Expanded Bundle Magazine for material bundles from 2000 to 6000mm long with a maximum bundle of 800mm diameter (0.5m2) and a load of 4 tonnes, gives added unattended flexibility.

An Extended Output Conveyor enables greater cut lengths of up to 1000mm.

The unit incorporates an integrated motorised table, with a lift-off device to push cut components onto a storage rack with a length capacity of 800mm.

Trim-cut lengths and remnants are separated via a chute to a cut-off and scrap container.

Other standard KMR features include; a chip conveyor, an atomised coolant system and a CNC pusher and length stop measuring system.

The drop-down protective safety hood has a large illuminated viewing area and input controls are via a neat eye- level touch pad panel and screen.
