Dual head plasma-arc system profiles plate

A Kaltenbach product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 9, 2007

A dual-head, autogenous or optional plasma-arc twin-cutting unit and drilling system, produces simultaneous duplicate parts with more than 100% productivity gain when compared with other models.

The KF2512 is the latest of the Kaltenbach KF series of plate processing machines.

A dual-head, autogenous or optional plasma twin-cutting unit and drilling system, it achieves simultaneous duplicate part production with more than 100% productivity gain over other models.

The KF2512 material capacity accepts widths of 220-2500mm, lengths of 500-6000 and thicknesses from 6-60mm.

Minimum finished part size is 130x130mm.

Optional plasma achieves an 80% faster cutting rate and maintains a very high quality cut surface finish and tolerance.

The high-speed carbide drilling units, with a drilled hole range of 8-50mm diameter have powerful 26kW drives, achieving 30% faster drilling speeds.

Ultra-fast drill spindle positional speed is maintained at an impressive 30,000mm/min.

Supplied as standard is a countersinking programme; an input roller conveyor with a unique 'datum-free' gripper-type measuring system and plate length capacity of up to 6,300mm and an output roller conveyor to suit material lengths of up to 2000mm.

Also as standard is an automated 12-tool capacity tool changer system via two 6-unit stations and popular CIM-Plate software.

The many optional extras include; a threading programme, hydraulic Contour Marking and a very useful automated tilting output table to auto-sort output material.

The KF2512 is designed as an ideal machine for the steel fabrication, construction and service centre sectors.

This machine together with a host of completely new steel products from more than 20 partner companies, can be seen at the International Partners in Steel Event at the Kaltenbach Technical Centre in Loerrach, Germany, 23-27th April 2007.
