Bandsaws get intelligent blade control
option
Intelligent blade control, integrated blade management and control system influences cut accuracy, blade life and overall cycle times of straight cutting bandsaws.
Kaltenbach, the UK division of the German multi-national sawing, drilling and associated technologies group, will be demonstrating a number of new machines and processes for the first time at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition * Intelligent Blade Control - Intelligent Blade Control is a Behringer fully integrated blade management and control system that influences cut accuracy, blade life and overall cycle times of straight cutting bandsaws

High volume circular saw cuts 70mm bar under 15s
High volume, straight cutting circular sawing system performs rapid, accurate cutting, a full cutting cycle for example, is less than 15 seconds for a 70mm diameter bar.
Extra-wide hydraulic jaws grip wide stock, bundles
Fitted with an extra-wide, 500mm travel, hydraulically operated variable pressure jaw straight cutting bandsaws readily cut wide material or multiples of smaller material.
A multi-functional, fully integrated single option, it enables automatic setting of cut accuracy levels, according to customer demand.
Manual override is also readily achieved.
* Sawing/drilling system - a KBS750DG/KDS615 sawing/multi-axis drilling, close-coupled system will be demonstrated, with the latest, unique to Kaltenbach, 'solid-carbide' drills.
Solid-carbide cuts five times faster than HSS (high speed steel) and three times faster than TCT.
It also enables re sharpening; achieving greatly reduced cost-per-cut, said Kaltenbach.
Also, included is the new 'Contour Marking', pneumatically driven system, for inscribing profiles for fitting, or processing, or alpha/numeric details onto structural steel materials.
* World's fastest bandsaw - the HBM440 ALU model is claimed by Kaltenbach to be the world's fastest bandsaw for automatic straight cutting of non-ferrous materials.
Also demonstrated will be a mix of Behringer straight and mitre cutting bandsaws.
* Punch and shear line - the KPS506 Punch and Shear Line is for fast efficient strip-fed plate processing, plus drilling and plasma-arc cutting options.
* handling of fabrications - the Swiss Stierli Bierger Rotator is a handling system to ease the handling, welding and processing, etc, of fabricated structural materials.
* Circular blade, precision saws - Kaltenbach will demonstate its market leading KKS and SKL upstroking saws for ferrous and ferrous metals.
* Kaltenbach at MACH 2008, NEC, Birmingham, UK, April 21-25, Hall 4, Stand 4750.
