Large press brakes order tops SEK 55
million

A further two orders for large 2 and 4.4MN press brakes have been won by the Ursviken plant of the Swedish Karolin Machine Tool company against strong competition.

A further two orders for large 2 and 4.4MN press brakes have been won by the Ursviken plant of the Swedish Karolin Machine Tool company against strong competition KMT Ursviken, part of the Sheet Metal Working business area of KMT, has received a further two orders on large press brakes (brake presses) amidst strong competition

The orders were placed in December of 2006, but at the request of the customers, they were not made public until the machine specifications were completed.

The total value of these two orders amounts to SEK 55 million, which represents approximately a third of KMT Ursviken's annual turnover.

Valmont Industries, the global leader in steel poles with manufacturing sites around the world, has placed an order consisting of a tandem press brake with a press power of a total of 4,400 tonf (4,4MN) and a press length of 17.4m.

The machine is equipped for the manufacture of circular conical poles, and is destined for a production site in the USA.

Delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007.

The second order has been placed by a German contract manufacturer.

The order consists of a press brake with a press power of 2,000 tonf (2MN) and a press length of 12.2m.

This particular customer has purchased a press brake from KMT Ursviken before.

Delivery of this machine is scheduled for the third quarter of 2007.
