KAS acquires advanced machining/assembly firm
KAS Technologies has unveiled its ambition to become a serious player in the UK precision engineering market by acquiring Oxford Engineering - an advanced machining and assembly company.
In just over two years KAS Technologies unveils its ambition to become a serious player in the UK precision engineering market.
This impressive move enables Karim Sekkat, its chairman and owner to make a quantum leap and create a GBP 15 million group.
Oxford Engineering is most definitely an impressive catch.
Formed in 1968, Oxford Engineering of Abingdon, UK, has steadily developed into a sophisticated machining and assembly company, supplying some of the most demanding sections of industry to become one of the top 10 UK contract manufacturers.
Oxford Engineering is a company with strong ethics and high regard for its customers and employees demonstrated by their commitment to Investors in People.
Over GBP 6 million has been invested over the last 10 years in 'State of the Art' machinery and the new Board continues its commitment with the purchase of GBP 800,000 worth of new equipment to be made to enhance the company's capabilities.
KAS Technologies Group currently owns two other successful and growing precision engineering companies, Holifields and Hutton Precision Engineering.
This powerful combination of Oxfordshire's leading engineering companies is a landmark in their quest to offer a world-class total manufacturing solution.
Oxford Engineering's technical engineering, assembly and test facility integrated with Holifield Precision Engineering's advance CNC lathes and machining centres backed by high pressure water jet profiling and Hutton Precision Engineering's one-hit machining technique, all backed up by the extremely competitive Oxford Engineering's Estonian factory, rolls up into an exciting and competitive bundle.
The group will continue to focus on quality, delivery and price for the benefit of its customers.
Qualifications range from ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001, AS9100, Rolls-Royce, CQC 103.
Sekkat, Oxfordshire's 'Business Person of the Year 2005 - Runner-up', recently completed a Business Growth Programme at Cranfield University School of Management to crystallise his strategy of rapid expansion.
He stated: "Our vision is to become a world-class engineering group to equipment manufacturers seeking to fulfill their supply chain requirements in the most efficient, cost conscious and environmentally friendly manner.
Oxford Engineering is an excellent and dynamic company with all the attributes necessary to launch our one stop pan-European vision." Alec Watts, former majority owner and chairman believed that: "This is a new era for Oxford Engineering".
"The new energy and vision brought by Karim is a very positive boost to the continued growth and sophistication of Oxford Engineering.
I feel very gratified that I have been able to pass on the company in such a smooth and undisruptive way.
The future of Oxford Engineering and its newly associated companies is, I am sure very good in deed." Geoff Owen, managing director of Oxford Engineering added: "The management team is stable and refocused.
This strategic milestone really strengthens our offering, my whole team is very excited about its potential.
Lean manufacturers need 'one stop shops' and this group can now deliver their total machining and assembly requirements and will be capable of minimising costs with single source accountability.".
