In case of power breakdown the Power Backup option ensures that the started production cycle ends up before the system stops.
The innovative Krauss-Maffei controls monitor the power supply at every moment.
In the event of blackout (power outage, failure), first the status of the injection cycle will be checked.
If this has not yet started, the needles will be closed.
In the event the injection process has already started, the driving voltage will be sustained by a no break power supply.
Injection will be finished by the accumulator, the needles will be closed; then the system will stop.
As soon as power is available again the preforms can be demoulded assisted by the ejector only.
'Short shots' - not completely injected preforms - occurring otherwise can be avoided.
The procedure of removing those core frozen short shots is only possible by core hammering which bears the risk of damages of the sensitive mould forming parts.
The new option Power Backup unit significantly raises the productivity of the PET form systems in regions with unstable power supply and increases the life time of the mould.
The Krauss-Maffei Power Backup unit is available for all PET form systems.
Existing systems easily can be upgraded with this feature.
