USB digital multimeter ideal for
production tests

Keithley Instruments has introduced the Model 2100 61/2-Digit USB digital multimeter which is ideal production test, burn-in and manual and semi-automatic research and development applications

Keithley Instruments, a provider of solutions for emerging measurement needs, has announced the release of the Model 2100 61/2-Digit USB digital multimeter (DMM), a high precision, low-cost USB-based instrument The Model 2100 is ideal for a wide range of production test, burn-in, and manual and semi-automatic research and development applications in bench, portable, or small system measurement configurations

The Model 2100 is being offered for a limited-time introductory price of only EUR 595.

As the newest member of Keithley's family of high-performance, precision DMMs, the Model 2100 complements Keithley's line of premium GPIB-based DMMs and combines advanced measurement performance with Keithley's reputation for worldwide service and support.

High Precision and Accuracy The Model 2100 features precision 10VDC accuracy of 38ppm 61/2-digit resolution at a fast measurement rate of 50 readings/second (at 61/2-digits) over the USB bus, a reading rate that is more than twice as fast as competitive offerings.

At 41/2-digits, the Model 2100 reads more than 2000 readings/second into its internal, 2000-reading data buffer.

Eleven measurement functions cover the most commonly measured parameters, including Volts, Ohms, Amps, and RTD temperature measurement capability, as well as MX+B, dB, and dBm math modifiers.

Fully specified accuracies are valid for one year on all functions for ISO-compliant applications and facilities.

The Model 2100 also offers selectable front and rear inputs plus two- and four-wire remote sense resistance inputs that facilitate use as both a stand-alone, benchtop DMM or in small systems applications.

Easy to Set Up and Use The Model 2100 61/2-Digit USB DMM is easy to set up and begin using right out of the box, needing no additional accessories.

All units include standard USB cable, power cord, safety measurement probes, and free utility software to ensure quick startup and a lower total cost of ownership.

Its USB interface supports the TMC (Test and Measurement Class) protocol, allowing SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instrumentation) commands to be sent over the USB bus for added data transfer and control options.

This TMC-compliant USB interface ensures preservation of existing SCPI test code, saving development time and cost.

In addition, the Model 2100 includes KI-Tool, a built-in graphic utility that enables trend plotting and data transfer to a PC.

It also includes an add-in tool that is used for importing data directly into Microsoft Excel and Word documents.

USB drivers are also provided with each Model 2100 DMM.

Supports a Wide Range of Applications Keithley's Model 2100 61/2-Digit USB DMM is suited for test engineers performing manual and semi-automatic electrical function tests and development and R and D engineers performing electrical validation in emerging electrical design and manufacturing regions.

It is also suited for service and calibration technicians working in instrument repair and metrology, research scientists, and engineering students in science and engineering laboratories.

The rugged and durable construction of the Model 2100, including a heavy gauge chassis and cover and rubberized front and rear bumpers, makes it suitable for bench applications as well as portable and field applications.

Price and Availability Keithley's Model 2100 61/2-Digit USB DMM is available for an introductory price of EUR 595 through September 30, 2007.

After that time, the list price will be EUR 675. Request a free brochure from Keithley Instruments ...
