With these compact TIG welding machines, the user can quickly plug in one of three panels to select the operating mode to suit the best individual requirements.

Welding equipment manufacturer, Kemppi (UK), based in Bedford, whose parent company is Kemppi OY in Lahti, Finland has launched Mastertig MLS (Multi Logic System) 2500 and 3500 TIG welding machines Mastertig MLS is compact in size (500mm L x 180mm W x 390mm H), light weight (approx: 23kg) and has good welding characteristics based on Master MLS MMA 250A and 350A micro-processor controlled IGBT DC power sources, having a wide voltage range from 340 - 440V for use with power generators

With an OCV of 80V, the stepless current control gives the operator very precise control over his weld settings.

The MLS 2500 has a welding current range from 5A/10V - 300A/22V using 1.5mm - 5.0mm TIG welding electrodes, whilst MLS? 3500 has a welding current range from 5A/10V - 400A/26V using 1.5mm - 6mm TIG welding electrodes.

They are ideal for use both in- and outdoors as they have water splash (IP 23C) protection and Kemppi's ICS (Isolated Cooling System) prevents dust and other particles from reaching the equipment1s electronic circuit cards.

Air flows only over components that need cooling, using a cooling fan that operates automatically, when required.

Mastertig MLS has 3 interchangeable control panels MTL, MTX and MTM, allowing the user to select the panel to suit his individual requirements.

All three panels have HF ignition or contact ignition, pre- and post gas time to protect the weld pool from oxidisation and pre-setting of the welding current1s up-slope and down-slope to avoid defects at both ends of the weld, as well as a gas and water check.

The MTX panel has additional functions including setting the pulse ratio, frequency and idling current level for Pulsed TIG welding, whilst for Synergic Quick pulse TIG, the pulse parameters are synergically controlled.

A 4T Log sets true and low values The MTM panel has a 'minilog' function, for easy starting on thin materials.

A memory function to store welding programmes is accessed from the panel, the remote control unit or the control module on the welding torch.

Kemppi has also launched a new range of lightweight, ergonomic, air and water-cooled TIG torches with flexible cables up to 16m.long to complement Mastertig MLS.

For use with water cooled TIG torches, a compact MASTERCOOL 10 water circulator is available as an option as is a portable trolley to take all the operators equipment including the gas bottle.

For MMA welding the Master 2500MLS (Multi Logic System) rated 160A at 100% duty cycle and Master 3500MLS rated 220A at 100%duty cycle are ideal for general fabrication as well as repair and maintenance work.

The Master 2500 MLS has a welding current range from 5A/20.5V - 250A/30V using 1.5mm - 5.0mm MMA electrodes, whilst Master 3500 MLS has a welding current range from 10A/20.5V - 350A/34V using 1.5mm - 6mm MMA electrodes.

The MEL control panel has been designed with ease of use in mind, allowing the operator to choose between MMA or TIG welding.

When TIG welding, scratch start is available using a gas valve torch .
