Over 80 welding equipment distributors and customers attended an Open Day on for the launch of new welding products from Kemppi (UK), and a considerable number of orders were placed.

Over 80 welding equipment distributors and customers attended an Open Day on Thursday 2nd February for the launch of new welding products from Kemppi (UK), in Bedford, whose parent company is Kemppi OY in Lahti, Finland.

After an opening presentation of the new products by John Frost, director sales and marketing, the visitors were able to see all the equipment in action and to actually try the equipment for themselves.

Together with special offers on the day only, the result was that a considerable number of orders were placed.

One of the products launched was MinarcMig Adaptive 150 and 180, two 'go anywhere' lightweight (9.4kg), easy to use, ergonomically designed single phase 230V.

MIG/MAG welding inverters, which can be used from either a mains supply or generator for on-site applications.

They are one of the smallest machines of their type on the market to-day.

They have an 'Adaptive' intelligent feature and sophistication found in larger industrial synergic machines, making them easy to use for all skill levels to weld light gauge sheet metal using 0.6-1.0mm solid mild steel and 0.8-1.0mm mild steel cored wires.

The MinarcMig 180 is also able to weld with 0.6-1.0mm stainless steel and 1.0mm aluminium wires.

They have been designed for repair and maintenance departments, light fabrication workshops, educational colleges and training establishments, equipment hire and construction companies, DIY welders as well as farmers, the rail industry maintenance and repair, shipbuilding and marine outfitting.

John Frost said: "This was the first time that we have had the opportunity to show the UK market the new products that we launched at Schweissen und Schneiden in Essen, Germany last October.

Kemppi is one of Europe's most successful welding equipment designers and manufacturers with worldwide growth last year around 15% and the demand for these products since their launch has been exceptional and judging by the orders we received last Thursday, the demand from the UK market is the same.

One of the trends we have seen in the market is that the user interface should be as easy as possible and all our new equipment has taken this into account and we now see that demand for our equipment continues to grow.".
