Welding process for thin sheet metal
welding
At Schweissen und Schneiden 2005 Kemppi introduced FastROOT a new welding process, developed for accurate and fast MIG/MAG root pass and thin sheet metal welding.
At Schweissen und Schneiden 2005, Finnish welding equipment manufacturer, Kemppi , whose UK company Kemppi (UK) , is based in Bedford, introduced FastROOT a new welding process, developed for accurate and fast MIG/MAG root pass and thin sheet metal welding on structural (Fe) and stainless (SS) steels, allowing the welder to weld in all positions, resulting in improved penetration and a spatter free weld FastROOT offers the user better welding speeds, thereby improving productivity and can be used as a replacement for TIG welding

Aluminium welds are spatter-free
When one of the World's leaders in On and Off-Road motorcycles, CCM Motorcycles, needed to improve production outputs they turned to Kemppi's PRO 4000 Synergic MIG welding equipment.
Compact TIG machines offer precise control
Kemppi (UK) has launched Mastertig MLST (Multi Logic System) 2500 and 3500 TIG welding machines, which feature compact size and a wide power generator voltage range.
It uses the same equipment for both root and filler welding, whilst control adjustments are easily made, making welding easier at the same time producing good root surfaces and root side shape with minimal requirements for post weld finishing.
FastROOT is a modified short-arc welding process, where the power source's current and voltage parameters are digitally controlled.
The process controls the welding parameters and monitors the formation of a short circuit during welding, so that the weld droplets fall off the end of the welding wire into the molten weld pool at precisely the correct moment, making it easier to control the arc and significantly reduce the formation of spatter.
This new welding process is supplied as an option when buying new Kemppi FastMig Synergic welding equipment, but can also be easily installed into existing Kemppi FastMig Synergic welding equipment, with the aid of a DVD product package providing a wealth of information about the process in addition to the actual process, which is installed entering a special activation code onto the equipment control panel.
John Frost Marketing Director, Kemppi UK said: "The welding industry is always looking to improve productivity and quality.
MMA, TIG and traditional MIG/MAG are not processes dedicated to root pass welding alone.
The new Kemppi FastROOT process with FastMig Synergic welding equipment allows the welder to adjust the wire feed, the level of the second upslope stage and the base current level to meet the requirements of root pass and thin sheet welding in manufacturing.".
