Wire feed improved for better MIG
welding
A smaller, lighter, and more effective wire feeding mechanism ensures smooth and undisturbed wire feed in all welding conditions, including in double-pulse welding.
Kemppi has developed the new DURATorque wire feed mechanism to ensure a smooth and undisturbed wire feed in all welding conditions, including in double-pulse welding New, advanced welding methods have created new challenges for the development of wire feeders for MIG/MAG welding

Compact TIG machines offer precise control
Kemppi (UK) has launched Mastertig MLST (Multi Logic System) 2500 and 3500 TIG welding machines, which feature compact size and a wide power generator voltage range.
For example, in double-pulse welding the wire feed speed is controlled electronically.
The feeding speed of the filler wire must change according to the current pulses, so rapid acceleration and deceleration are important for successful welding.
Kemppi wanted to enhance the wire feeding mechanisms used in its MIG/MAG machines, enabling the wire feeders to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
The development work resulted in the DURATorque system - a smaller, lighter, and more effective wire feeding mechanism.
The new DURATorque mechanism has an improved efficiency, and the motor size is smaller than that of previous versions.
This has made it possible to create smaller wire feeding units that at the same time have improved efficiency rates and higher torque.
The structure of the gear unit has been changed so that the torsional force of the secondary axle can be exploited efficiently.
This decreases the transmission losses of energy in the gear unit.
In the development of the new wire feeding mechanism, special attention has been given to the durability of the feed rolls and to the wire handling properties.
Thanks to improved machining technology, the groove shape of the feed rolls is better than ever before.
This enables reliable wire feed and a tight grip of the welding wire without the risk of crushing the wire during the feed.
