Micro tooling system speeds up auto lathe changes
Quick-change tooling system for automatic lathes, featured in the "Micro Machining Tools" catalogue, has achieved time savings of up to 40% and can be used in turning and boring operations.
Modular drill can be changed in the machine
Modular high-performance drill, that can be changed while in the machine, adds value by reducing machining time and down-time in drilling operations.
As soon as the user has selected the required tool and quantity the relevant slide-in module lights up and is released.
The tool can then be taken out without any risk of damage.
The units are simple to operate, absolutely safe and error-free.
The slide-in modules, which can be activated individually, are available in six sizes and have a load capacity of 20kg.
They can be subdivided into eight compartments.
Each slide-in module can be individually assigned according to job, machine and/or user.
The user makes his selection from the list of articles to which he has access and receives only the tool which he needs.
It is also possible to return used tools or tools which need to be reworked.
All movements are registered by the integrated management system and allocated a time stamp.
All system operations are carried out without having to use a keyboard.
The user obtains access by means of a security card, or an access code entered using a light pen.
When tools are being issued, re-ground tools are given preference over new ones.
The issuing unit is supplied as standard with software which fully supports tool management, list logging and article refilling.
It can be set up as a single freestanding unit or as one of several issuing points.
The system can be linked to the Kennametal Hertel network and connected to the tool management software (KATMS).
The Kennametal Hertel tool management system reduces costs significantly because it ensures that only the tools which are really needed actually reach the workplace.
