Micro tooling system speeds up auto lathe changes
Quick-change tooling system for automatic lathes, featured in the "Micro Machining Tools" catalogue, has achieved time savings of up to 40% and can be used in turning and boring operations.
Modular drill can be changed in the machine
Modular high-performance drill, that can be changed while in the machine, adds value by reducing machining time and down-time in drilling operations.
The special combination of KY1540's physical and mechanical properties enables a significant extension of the range of high-temperature alloys, which can economically be machined with SiAlON cutting ceramics.
The main field of application of the new grade is in machining and finishing operations and in the medium segment of difficult-to-machine alloys.
This cutting ceramic stands out in particular by virtue of its excellent performance capability in machining Inconel, Waspaloy and other Ni-based alloys.
With this new cutting ceramic the user can apply higher feed rates and cutting speeds to achieve improved productivity.
It is, however, also cost-efficient at lower cutting speeds, if the machine environment and/or the chucking position do not allow machining at the higher cutting speed typical of ceramic cutting materials.
As standard the product range includes the geometries and grooving geometries which are characteristic for ceramic.
In addition to these geometries special dimensions are supplied on request.
