Micro tooling system speeds up auto lathe changes
Quick-change tooling system for automatic lathes, featured in the "Micro Machining Tools" catalogue, has achieved time savings of up to 40% and can be used in turning and boring operations.
The 'KSOM mini' complements the successful KSOM range and is particularly suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium and heat-resistant alloys.
The cutters are available in a range of diameters for 32 through to 160mm.
Strong 8-edged indexable inserts with an inscribed circle of 14.7mm are used, allowing a feed per tooth of up to 0.5mm and cutting depths of up to 5mm.
The inserts geometry has excellent edge stability at high tooth loads, and is secured by a unique, easy-to-use and very strong clamping system.
The cutter construction and positive geometry of the inserts means that the 'KSOM mini' series places low power consumption demands on machining centres and CNC machines.
The milling cutters provide excellent surface quality results (RZ ?10 micron).
