Kennametal announces the expansion of its solid carbide HP drill line to 3.0mm diameter.

Featuring material-specific grades and geometries for steel, stainless steel and high temperature alloys, and grey and ductile iron, the SE HP series of drills offers the highest metal removal rates in the industry and up to 50% cost savings improvements over conventional solid carbide drills and modular drills.

The SE HP series incorporates the new, patented HP geometry, providing 20% lower thrust due to a straight cutting edge, high positive chisel angle and a sculptured edge.

Other features are: * Increased hot hardness due to an advanced multilayer PVD coating.

* Excellent centering ability.

* Significantly higher cutting speed.

* Long and stable tool life.

The SE HP series addresses all applications in automotive, aerospace and defence, general engineering, medical and energy.

The SE HP is stock standard in 3xD, 5xD and 7xD with diameters from 3.0 to 21.0mm.
