Delivering consistent high performance drilling with the added benefits of consistent performance and tool length these drills provide low cost high performance indexable drilling.

Kennametal's high performance KenTIP modular drilling range has been extended to cover diameters from 8.00 through to 20.99mm Delivering consistent high performance drilling normally only found with solid carbide drills

With the added benefits of consistent performance and tool length, due to the elimination of reconditioning and subsequent tool management costs, KenTIP drills provide a low cost high performance indexable drilling solution.

The drill point has the patented Kennametal HP point giving consistent centering and high penetration rates guaranteeing high productivity.

Tool life is enhanced through the multi layer KC7315 coating, this coating process allows cutting data, on steel and cast irons, of up to 50% higher than similar competitive products.

The KenTIP insert is not regrindable, this can help reduce the inventory costs associated with having tools in circulation outside your plant to support processing within.

The other key benefit from this is that deviations in tool life and geometric sizes due to regrinding are virtually eliminated.

The patented coupling between KenTIP insert and tool body does not require any screws and the secure clamping system and flute geometry ensure feed rates once only possible with solid tools are now achievable.

Tool changes are simple and the necessity to adjust length offsets is eliminated in all but the most demanding operations Chips are formed on the KenTIP insert, this means that erosion of the body from chip forming is also eliminated.

The internal coolant channels in the drill body ensure help to reduce the heat in the cutting zone and help to eject the chips up the flute of the drill smoothly and efficiently.

The chip flutes are specifically designed to cope with the volume of chips generated at the high penetration rates achieved by the KenTIP drill, the flutes are optimized to eliminate the build up of chips and subsequent chip jamming in operation.

KenTIP tool bodies are available in 3xD, 5xD and 8xD (D = diameter) with straight shank as well as a SCF shank version with 0 deg clamping flat and flange, all products are available from stock.

Kennametal can also offer custom solutions to suit applications outside of the profile of the standard range.
