Face milling cutters offer productivity
increases
A range of face milling cutters is engineered for higher cutting speeds and feed rates with lower cutting forces of up to 30%, including milling macvhines with low power.
With Dodeka, Kennametal offers a new face milling programme, which is claimed to be unique in the world It results in a productivity gain - with identical power consumption of the milling spindle - of 30%, as compared with the products available so far on the market

Dodeka is a milling programme that reduces costs in several ways.
The programme was engineered for higher cutting speeds and feed rates with lower cutting forces.
In this way, it will be possible to increase the productivity in addition also on machines with less spindle power, in the area of 5-15kW.
However, higher feed rates up to 0.6mm/tooth are also possible with Dodeka.
Furthermore, Dodeka is a very user-friendly product, because it needs only a single screw for insert indexing.
The indexable inserts with 12 cutting edges are available in five grades and two geometries.
The unique new, patented indexable-insert geometry with highly positive cutting edges guarantees a soft cut and applications in a great variety of workpiece materials, from steel and cast iron as well as stainless materials up to high-temperature alloys like titanium and Inconel.
The main fields of application of this new product line are general mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
