Micro tooling system speeds up auto lathe changes
Quick-change tooling system for automatic lathes, featured in the "Micro Machining Tools" catalogue, has achieved time savings of up to 40% and can be used in turning and boring operations.
Modular drill can be changed in the machine
Modular high-performance drill, that can be changed while in the machine, adds value by reducing machining time and down-time in drilling operations.
In the past years, the company had already surpassed this goal several times.
High-performance products introduced last year, such as Dodeka and Mill1, have been met with a wide acceptance among the customers.
Dodeka is a face milling program, introduced in spring 2007, which is unique in the world and increases productivity - without increasing power consumption - by 30% as compared with the products currently available on the market.

Mould and die production partnership benefits
Mould and die production imposes special demands, which have to be met by the machine and tooling, as well as by CAD/CAM and CNC systems - and are now being met by Competence Centre partnership.
Coated carbide increases milling cutter life
MTCVD multilayer coated carbide milling grades enable users to increase tool life by up to 30% for the medium to heavy machining of steel, VA steel and nodular cast iron.
It is a very user-friendly product, as it requires a single screw for changing the indexable inserts.
The 12-edged inserts are available in five grades and two geometries.
The unique new, patented insert geometry with highly positive cutting edges guarantees a soft cut, in very different materials, from steel and cast iron to high-temperature alloys like Titanium and Inconel, through stainless steels.
The milling-cutter program Mill1 provides excellent cutting results for circular plunging, ramp milling and 3D milling as well as face and shoulder milling operations.
With Mill1, the user can clearly increase his productivity and, furthermore, reduce production inventory, thanks to the versatile application.
High rigidity and large rake angles provide an excellent smoothness of running of the Mill1 tools and clearly reduce the cutting forces.
The result is a uniform, production at high feed and speeds.
The complete product range of solid-carbide milling cutters, indexable inserts, milling cutters and value-added products are presented by Kennametal in its new 530-page catalogue 'Global Milling Tooling'.
This catalogue contains the most comprehensive and most complete program of solid-carbide and indexable-insert milling cutters on the world market, from one manufacturer and one brand.
More than 33% of the products presented there are new, so that high growth can be expected again for the coming fiscal year.
In the field of milling, the enterprise is at present growing at a two-digit rate with its two strong brands, Kennametal and Widia.
While the brand 'Kennametal' addresses the end customers, the brand 'Widia' concentrates mainly on dealers and, therefore, on general mechanical engineering.
Dr Robert Damaschek, director Global Milling of Kennametal, declared: "For the development of milling products, we make increasingly use of Kennametal's proven competency in the field of cutting materials, which up to now has mainly been used in the turning area.
This offers a lot of advantages, which our customers recognise and turn to profit.
We will specifically extend the existing product range of our two brands also in the near future.
Therefore, you can be looking forward to further milling highlights, which will be presented for the first time on the EMO exhibition.".
