ECM deburrs precision components
A modular electrochemical machining system deburrs, radiuses and contour-machines precision components.
ECM System from Extrude Hone that can be individually configured for improved efficiency and systems can be customised for individual applications On the Kennametal stand at EMO 2007, Extrude Hone Corporation showed a series of ECM (electro-chemical machining) systems called 'ECLine' designed for deburring, radiusing and contour machining of precision components

Micro tooling system speeds up auto lathe changes
Quick-change tooling system for automatic lathes, featured in the "Micro Machining Tools" catalogue, has achieved time savings of up to 40% and can be used in turning and boring operations.
Modular drill can be changed in the machine
Modular high-performance drill, that can be changed while in the machine, adds value by reducing machining time and down-time in drilling operations.
By customisation of the system configurations, Extrude Hone told Manufacturingtalk that ECM adds increased value for the user in volume production.
The modular construction concept of the new 'ECLine' series of electrolytic machines from Extrude Hone allows users to custom configure their machine to suit individual requirements.
The perfectly matched standard modules complement one another mechanically and electro-technically.

Mould and die production partnership benefits
Mould and die production imposes special demands, which have to be met by the machine and tooling, as well as by CAD/CAM and CNC systems - and are now being met by Competence Centre partnership.
Coated carbide increases milling cutter life
MTCVD multilayer coated carbide milling grades enable users to increase tool life by up to 30% for the medium to heavy machining of steel, VA steel and nodular cast iron.
With these modules, and available optional equipment, the user acquires a system tailor-made to meet his needs.
This keeps investment costs low and under control since unnecessary technical and performance features are eliminated.
* Ergonomic and environmentally friendly - the generously dimensioned and ergonomically designed work envelope of the ECLine series of machines simplifies the process of machine setup, thereby saving time and cost.
Even large components or complex tools can be integrated into the ECLine without adjustments to the machine configuration.
For higher production requirements, Extrude Hone can also supply the ECLine with two or more workstations.
Even automated systems are relatively easy to integrate.
Large panels provide easy access to the machine power units for ease of service and maintenance.
All of the machine power units are located in a stainless steel enclosure above the tank, thus fully satisfying environmental requirements.
* Process reliability in volume production - by using only the most up-to-date control components, all of the process data for the ECLine and the peripheral equipment can be stored and monitored for tolerance compliance during the machining process.
This increases machine repeatability and reliability during each phase of the machining process.
The system is operated via a clearly arranged touch panel with an easy-to-operate interface.
The system is also available with an optional generator that produces a pulsed processing current.
This option provides an exceptionally high quality surface finish in the area of material removal.
Also included in the available options is remote maintenance via a modem or the Internet.
* More than deburring - with the introduction of the ECLine it is our aim to provide more value for our customers through individualized configuration, said Extrude Hone, which ultimately means more efficiency in production without compromising quality.
That was said by Dipl-Ing Hans-Joachim Konietzni, managing director of Extrude Hone in Erkheim, Germany, the location of the ECM 'Centre of Excellence' for Extrude Hone.
The ECLine series of ECM machines is particularly suited for medium to large volume production runs wherever: burrs produced during turning, milling, grinding, honing, or broaching need to be selectively removed, contours added, or when edges require a specific radius.
