The KIP 8000 is networked throughout Legastat's copy shop and separate offices directly opposite, enabling the company to print directly to the KIP system from any PC on its network.
"Legastat is based in the heart of London's legal sector, outside the Royal Courts, and for over 50 years we've served this sector with all their reprographic requirements," commented John Eddowes, MD of Legastat.
"However, although this is our traditional client base, we're increasingly being asked to perform print jobs for new construction industry customers." "Both the legal and the construction industries like quick turnaround and on top of our 24 hour service, we thought that the sheer speed of the 8000 would be more useful.
It takes up less space than our previous machine and although we looked at competitive devices, there was no comparison in terms of speed, serviceability and build quality.
We now firmly believe that we have the fastest and most efficient large format printer in London." "We are confident that the KIP 8000 will provide the platform to help us grow the large format side of our business.
We're now looking at KIP's PrinterNet software to explore how that can help our clients email their print jobs in or even print directly to our printer from their own desktops, and how KIP can be deployed to help us speed the throughput of the intended overnight jobs when we open our planned larger premises outside London in 2004", added John Eddowes.
The KIP 8000 provides organisations in print room, copy shop and bureaux markets with unrivalled print output speeds of 14.4 metres per minute, enabling them to significantly increase print productivity and quality both in high-volume environments and where production times are limited.
The system combines KIP's patented 'HDP plus' technology with patented new image smoothing technology, long maintenance intervals and very low cost of ownership to bring the print quality and low running costs of High Definition Print to the high-end production arena.
