Hands-on demonstrations - highlighting the productivity benefits of Kitagawa's vast range of shopfloor solutions - will be the keynote of the company's presentations on stands 234 and 238 at Tooling 2000, (taking place at the NEC between 7th-9th November) The 'Quick change jaw challenge' is just one way stand visitors can see for themselves the versatility of its workholding systems - by replacing a set of Chick workholding system 'QwikChange' machinable jaws, along with jawsets for Kitagawa QJ and QB chucks, against the clock - with the contestant setting the fastest time each day winning a palm top PDA (Personal Data Assistant) computer

Visitors to the Kitagawa Europe stands will be encouraged to bring examples of their own problem components - either as physical samples or engineering drawings - to see how a tailored workholding solution can be developed on-screen and subsequently translated into a fully specified and costed proposal.
The company will also be featuring a wide variety of Kitagawa chucks - including its B-series, the world's most popular chuck type - alongside examples of its brand new RS100 RAHO rotary table equipped with Mac MiniCE controller and the ATS workholding systems, which will both be exhibited by Kitagawa for the first time at Tooling 2000.
In addition, there will be live demonstrations of Darex drill and tool sharpening equipment, Chick flexible workholding systems for both horizontal and vertical machining centres, IEMCA automatic bar feeders and Overbeck Twister Speed lathes for semi-automated finishing operations.
The company will also be showing Cooljet high pressure coolant systems and the recently-introduced Absolent range of oil mist filtration systems, which are not only capable of achieving 99.97 per cent separation, but also removing sub-viral sized particles and carcinogenic contaminants ranging from 0.1- 0.5 microns diameter.
