Pemstar uses Kinaxis' rapid response to achieve the agility necessary to drastically improve customer service

Kinaxis customer Pemstar is a leading provider of engineering and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) for the industrial, medical, communications, computing, aerospace and defence industries In a highly competitive, demand-driven industry where customer responsiveness is imperative, Pemstar uses Kinaxis' Rapid Response to achieve the agility necessary to drastically improve customer service to industry giants such as IBM, Motorola and Applied Materials

Before employing Kinaxis software, Pemstar's ability to react to change was limited.

The company was working on a "load-it-and-go" premise and as a result, was informing customers of issues too late in the game.

Pemstar's try at building inventory as a buffer for the unknown "what-ifs" was an ineffective resolution that only added to the constant "yo-yo" effect on their supply chain and tied up cash.

Pemstar required the flexibility to sense and respond to constant demand, supply and product changes, and the visibility to see the potential impact on operations prior to committing to a course of action.

RapidResponse's ability to integrate with Pemstar's Mapics ERP system and do MRP calculations in real-time for quick and easy "what-if" analysis was a key factor in Pemstar's adoption of this solution.

RapidResponse has provided Pemstar with immediate value upon deployment, improving operations performance across its global supply chain.

Performance metrics such as inventory liability and turns, and cash cycle times are improving and are expected to meet year-end targets.

Currently, as new demands or other changes come in, planners can immediately run scenarios in Rapid Response to see the impact, collaborate with procurement on resolution alternatives, and follow up with the customer to share a status report and discuss any gating items.
