Steerable tractor made for submerged arc
welding
Steerable tractor designed for twin-wire submerged arc welding ensures high productivity consistent weld quality and uses a laser seam tracking device and offers pneumatic flux recovery.
Fabricators of wind mill towers constantly are improving their technologies and the machinery facilities, and have focussed their interest on high-productive submerged-arc welding equipment On basis of the standard steerable Tractor KA1- UP Kjellberg Finsterwalde has prepared a twin wire kit so that SAW-welding with 2 x 3.0mm wire diameter can be performed

Plasma-arc unit offers high cutting precision
Kjellberg Finsterwalde will be demonstrating at EuroBLECH its HiFocus 440i plasma-arc cutting unit, which offers highest cutting precision across material thicknesses from 1mm up to 100mm.
This technology ensures high productivity and consistent weld quality.
Furthermore the steerable undercarriage was modified for the movement on the conical shaped steel tower.
Drive axle extensions increasing the steadiness, and a laser pointer makes visual seam tracking easy.
The adjustable steering column permits a comfortable handling of the tractor during the welding process.
Through the pneumatic flux recovery a continuous welding without time wasting interruptions is granted.
Two work lamps, attached to the tractor column provide best conditions for the welding area.
Together with the 50m long welding and control cables a heavy duty welding power source is required.
The modified Welding Rectifier GTH 1400 from Kjellberg Finsterwalde with its maximum output of 1400A will fulfil the demands consistently.
This configuration successfully can be used where workpieces and/or welding seams are irregular, and where by economical reasons the investment for column and boom devices is not advisable.
