The Gee Graphite division of the company produces laminated graphite material to act as a gasket within valves and other critical engineered components in the power generation and petrochemical industries amongst others.
Waterjet cutting technology is able to cope with the intricate gasket shapes, provide the necessary accuracy of cut and successfully cut a composite of graphic reinforced with a stainless steel or nickel core.
The company's Waterjet Cutting Division of the company acts as a sub-contract facility for some of the UK's leading companies.
The water only operation today is fulfilled through three multi and single head waterjet cutting tables, all connected to three KMT Streamline SL-lV 50 intensifiers.
Typical of the work undertaken is the production of intricately patterned vinyl floor coverings and Colin Gee has been able to fulfil demands for more sophisticated cutting patterns for tiles and borders, including the creation of bespoke logos.
Abrasive work, for example cutting ceramic wall tiles with sophisticated centre patterns or even glass inserts, is also undertaken with a waterjet table equipped with four KMT Autoline cutting heads and fed by a new KMT Plus Pump intensifier.
