KMT Waterjet Systems names sales manager

Bernd Schrum (42), former MD of Cutting Center OHG, of Friedrichsdorf, Germany, has been appointed as the new Sales Manager at KMT Waterjet Systems, Bad Nauheim, Germany.

Bernd Schrum (42), former MD of Cutting Center OHG, of Friedrichsdorf, Germany, has been appointed as the new Sales Manager at KMT Waterjet Systems, Bad Nauheim, Germany.

He will be responsible for sales in Europe, Africa, India, Middle East, China as well as parts of Asia.

Peter Longman remains in the role of Area Manager for the UK, Ireland and South Africa, territories which have seen considerable growth in the demand for waterjet cutting over the last three years.

Schrum was previously with KMT Waterjet Systems (Ingersoll-Rand at the time) as Area Manager, between 1998-2001.

He remained within the waterjet industry for the following three years, as a turnkey system supplier and OEM customer of KMT Waterjet Systems.

As a result, he knows the company from both the internal and external perspective.

Bernd's position was created by the appointment of Wiktor Stepien, who will remain within KMT as Vice President Sales and Marketing, responsible for Sales, Marketing and Service in the company's worldwide headquarters in Baxter Springs/KS, USA.

Bernd Schrum is the tenth new senior appointment within KMT Waterjet Systems in the last twelve months.

During this time the company also opened its seventh foreign location in Shanghai, China.

At the start of November 2004 an additional service location in Dubai was established.

With the establishment of these new support locations, KMT Waterjet Systems has recognized the increasing importance of the Asiatic and Arabic markets, and underlines the company's global customer proximity philosophy.
