KMT has acquired Aqua-Dyne LP, a US-based company that manufactures high pressure waterjetting systems and accessories.

The acquisition gives KMT access to new growing market segments with significant potential and is wholly complementary to the existing KMT Waterjet Cutting Systems operation.

Aqua-Dyne LP, based in Houston, Texas, has been making high pressure waterjetting systems for over 30 years.

They typically operate at 10,000 to 40,000 lb/in2 and are used for diverse operations including surface preparation work as an environmentally friendly alternative to sand blasting or grinding.

The process can also be used for the internal cleaning of pipes and heat exchangers, as well as for concrete removal in a process known as hydro-demolition.

The company's extensive product range is designed for use within many sectors of industry including construction.

Products are divided into dedicated operational areas and include pumps and pumping units, surface preparation and cleaning systems, and hydrostatic testing equipment as well as a range of nozzles and other accessories.

"The acquisition of Aqua-Dyne significantly increases our market potential in the waterjet area.

By combining KMT Waterjet Cutting Systems' existing organization, international experience and distribution channels with Aqua-Dyne's strong brand, we see considerable growth opportunity world-wide," said Lars Bergstrom, president and CEO of KMT.
