Ensuring high-quality abrasive waterjet
cutting
An abrasive metering system ensures a consistent supply of abrasive to the cutting head to benefit from consistent high quality abrasive waterjet cutting.
Stable and repeatable operating parameters are fundamental requirements for consistent high quality abrasive waterjet cutting, said KMT Waterjet Systems The company said that it can only be achieved with a consistent supply of abrasive to the cutting head and the new Feedline IV metering system from KMT Waterjet Systems, to be featured at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool show, meets these requirements and significantly reduces the risk of production downtime

Plasma/gas profiler adds water jet cutting
Waterjet system is able to accurately cut a many materials, ranging from plastics to granite, without creating any vapour, dust or smoke, with no heat-affected zone, hardening or stress.
Feedline IV supplies the waterjet cutting head with a constant and accurately metered flow of abrasive.
This accuracy ensures that when the abrasive reaches the mixing chamber in the cutting head, where it is mixed with water and air, there is no risk of blockage.
The abrasive outlet at the base of the Feedline IV unit has been completely redesigned.
For ease of maintenance, it now consists of a single component with no moving parts.
A T-piece water relief valve stops water entering the plastics hose through which the abrasive is transferred to the cutting head.
The abrasive is kept dry and in the event of a malfunction, production does not have to be interrupted to clean out the hose.
Another new feature is the inclusion of a quick release mechanism on the back plate for speedier access for maintenance.
KMT Waterjet Systems will also be exhibiting examples from its extensive Streamline intensifier range, including a new 60HP pump, together with the new IDE (integrated Diamond Educator/cutting head, the new Autoline II cutting head and other innovative waterjet cutting technology.
