The 19th International Conference on Water Jetting will look at the latest developments and applications of the waterjet process.

The 19th International Conference on Water Jetting will be held in Nottingham, UK, October 15-17, 2008.

Organised by the BHR Group, the conference is the premier waterjet cutting event in Europe at a time when the popularity of water jetting is growing dramatically.

Applications now range from precision cutting and shaping to environmentally friendly cleaning, the decommissioning of munitions and even the removal of damaged flesh from wounds.

Peter Longman of KMT Waterjet Systems in the UK is chairman of the conference.

The event will look at the latest developments and applications of the waterjet process and the continuing advancement of the technology.

Papers and innovative case studies will be presented on a range of subjects including the following.

* Fundamental research.

* New product developments.

* Innovative solutions to industrial problems.

* Use of waterjet in difficult and dangerous environments.

In addition, the cutting capabilities of waterjet, its suitability for environmental tasks such as recycling, decommissioning and cleaning will also be covered.

KMT said that water jetting can be applied in many different market sectors and these will also be reflected in conference papers.

Site visits are included as part of the conference, and include visits to Rolls Royce and Nottingham University, an establishment leading research into the waterjet process.
