Klaxon has launched the latest version of its Syrex 9M electronic sounder, which has an IP65 rating, sealing the durable unit against the ingress of dust and water.
The unit offers pre-recorded or live voice messaging, self-monitoring of equipment status and choice of speaker configuration.
A full range of control equipment is also available including hardwire and radio-controlled units.
Ruggedly constructed for outdoor use and designed for long life, the reliable unit has a powerful sound for wide area coverage, and emits universally recognised emergency signals.

Audibility is 110-118dB(A), depending on the speaker configuration.
ES-1 is the latest addition to Klaxon Signals' range of wide-area sirens, which are ideal for general disaster and flood warning as well as for more specific industrial crises such as chemical or gas leaks, explosions, nuclear meltdowns and security breaches.
With sound outputs reaching 145dB at one metre, Klaxon's motor-driven range of wide area sirens can be heard up to 6km away and are ideal for isolated or spread-out installations such as nuclear processing facilities, petrochemical refineries, mines, harbours and airports.
They provide a distinctive warning not only to company employees but also to the population in surrounding areas.
Weatherproof and rated at IP55, they range from the GP6, which has a 2.2kW motor, running current of 4.5A and maximum output of 135dB, to the GP12, with a 11kW motor, 27A running current and a maximum output of 145dB.
To prevent ice formation, de-icing heaters can be added in conjunction with separately mounted weatherproof thermostats.
Solenoid-operated shutter mechanisms, fitted to the heads of the sirens, are also available to provide a clearly defined and characteristic signal in conjunction with a programmed controller.
