Hydraulic oils offer efficiency benefits

Exxon Mobil has introduced its Mobil DTE 10 Excel Series of hydraulic oils in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

According to the company, the Mobil DTE 10 Excel series can help provide quantifiable increases in hydraulic efficiency compared to Exxon Mobil's standard hydraulic oils.

This can translate into reduced power consumption or increased machine output, resulting in monetary savings.

The product has been designed to handle the lubrication requirements of both industrial and mobile high-pressure hydraulic systems and is suitable for numerous industrial and off-highway sectors, including construction, energy/power, mining, general manufacturing, machine shops, plastics and pulp/paper.

According to the company, Mobil DTE 10 Excel can also be used in a large range of cold applications, including on board ships.

It can also meet major industry specifications, including Denison HF-O, Eaton M2950, CM P69 and P70, ISO11158 HV, DIN 51524 Part 3 and JCMAS HK-1 depending on viscosity grade.

In controlled laboratory efficiency testing, Mobil DTE 10 Excel was measured to provide up to a six per cent improvement in hydraulic pump efficiency compared to Mobil DTE 20 when operating in standard hydraulic applications.

The company said that in further laboratory and in-service field demonstrations conducted on modern hydraulic systems, the Mobil DTE 10 Excel series demonstrated, compared to the company's standard hydraulic fluids, exceptional oil life, outlasting these fluids by up to three times.

Mobil DTE 10 Excel was also judged to have demonstrated the value of its high viscosity index and shear stability by operating successfully in temperatures as low as -34C and by maintaining ISO VG class.
