Business benefits take wing at Aer Rianta
Aer Rianta has boosted its duty free business using a Microsoft Navision-based solutions using K3 Landsteinar.
K3 Landsteinar, which has been supporting their Navision system since it was originally implemented five years ago, was able easily to extend the system so that staff in the hotels and bars could enter sales and cash information directly onto the Microsoft Navision system over the internet.
Ciaran Goff, Assistant Finance Director for Capital Bars, explained why the company decided to use the Internet to create more efficient data flows.
"We had identified that the current system for reporting back operational data from our units was inefficient and occasionally inaccurate as a result of data entry errors." Ciaran Goff says that, to date, "The system has improved the process of reporting sales and cash information back from our units, by avoiding duplication of entry and improving the quality and accuracy of the information.
Since all the information is now being entered into our Microsoft Navision system we also have a central and well organised repository of operational information." The software is currently in use at three of the group's business units and is being rolled out across all hotels and bars.
The group reports that it has definitely saved time and money as a result of using the Microsoft Navision product.
