Kerf oxy-fuel gas cutter pleases: a second added

A Kerf Developments product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 28, 2008

Fabricator purchsed a Kerf devlopments CNC oxy-fuel gas cutting machine, and as demand rose, its satisfaction with its first purchase led to buying a second one.

Following the successful integration of a first RUR 3500G oxy-fuel gas cutting machine, UK fabricator Carver Engineering approached Littleborough-based Kerf Developments for a second identical machine to help cope with increasing global demand.

Originally established in Doncaster, 1994, Carver produces a variety of high quality fabrications.

These include, for example, armoured face conveyors, large machined frames, bridges and structural steelwork as well as mining industry fabrications.

Specialising in the manufacture of one-off bespoke fabrications, Carver supplies products that are used all over the world and with demand in areas such as China and Australia being particularly high, the provision of reliable engineering support is paramount.

Director at Carver, Tim Sheppard, said that the company relies on both the quality of its equipment and also the on-going service provided by Kerf to keep its two oxy-fuel machines running to capacity.

He said: "Having been pleased with the first machine Kerf supplied to us, we were then delighted with the on-going service they provided".

Sheppard continued: "Therefore, when the time came to acquire a second oxy-fuel machine, we had no hesitation in going back to Kerf, knowing that we were investing in more than just a piece of equipment, but rather in a successful relationship based on excellent service".

Kerf managing director, Dan Taylor, was equally pleased that Carver saw fit to invest in his company's proposition for a second time.

He said: "The RUR 3500G is designed specifically for users with high production demand.

It is a high quality, versatile machine, capable of adapting to the numerous design specifications of the fabrications produced by Carver".

Taylor added: "Knowing that the machines are in use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it is also essential that whenever there are any issues, we are on hand to make sure that any downtime is kept to a minimum".

Sheppard continued: "With Kerf, we know that as and when we have an issue, they are only a phone call away.

He said that Kerf's engineers are extremely knowledgeable and always tried to keep costs down by initially attempting to solve any problems over the phone.

Sheppard added: "However, if they then need to get someone over, they are usually here within hours.

That kind of service makes them worth their weight in gold and as a company we simply can't fault their reliability and professionalism".

Looking forward to continuing the relationship with Carver, Sheppard said: "The investment we make in ensuring that we have experienced engineers who know their jobs and who put the customer first is clearly appreciated by everyone at Carver".

He concluded: "Our business is doing our bit to ensure that out customers' businesses are successful and everyone at Kerf is delighted that Carver Engineering continues to value what we do for them.
