High pressure sliding agent designed for 02 plant

A Kluber Lubrication GB product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 19, 2004

Lubricant may be the world's first and possibly the only high-pressure sliding agent for oxygen installations that also meets the stringent requirements for contact with food products.

Kluberalfa YV 93-302 is the world's first and, to our knowledge, only high-pressure sliding agent for oxygen installations which at the same meets the stringent requirements for lubricants that may come into contact with food products.

Kluberalfa YV 93-302 thus closes a gap, being suitable in particular for applications involving breathing oxygen.

Such installations are found, for example, in medical applications and the diving sector, and the sliding agents used are directly exposed to the gas.

It is therefore not impossible for the air to contain some of the sliding agent.

For this reason, it is very important in such applications that the sliding agent does not pose any health hazard whatsoever.

Pure oxygen is an aggressive gas encouraging explosion, but also a fundamental prerequisite of human life - it should be handled with utmost care for both reasons.

Kluberalfa YV 93-302 has passed the oxygen pressure test at the BAM (German Institute for Materials Research and Testing) and is listed as an NSF-H1 lubricant.

For all sliding agents made by Kluber to be used in applications with oxygen contact results of relevant tests conducted by the BAM are available.
