Speciality forming lubricants need no
cleaning
Speciality metal forming lubricants, which do not need a cleaning process, play a major roll in the rolling and deep drawing of aluminium foils for food packaging.
When making food packages of aluminium foil by means of rolling and deep-drawing, the lubricant plays a major role Special rolling oils are used to carry off the heat and protect the aluminium surfaces

Hydraulic oils formulated for food manufacturing
NSF H1 certified HLP hydraulic oils exhibit excellent low friction characteristics, low temperature fluidity and water separating behaviour as well as far lower top up needs.
Lubrication switch saves bearing breakdowns
A major user of polythene extruders had a major problem of repetitive large taper bearing lubrication break-down, which was solved by switching to a grease lubricant.
They also serve for preventing the thin foil from sticking together when rolled onto a coil.
But before the actual deep-drawing starts, the lubricant must be completely removed from the material so as not to come into contact with the food product.
This is normally a complex and expensive process step.
Kluber Lubrication offers a number of speciality lubricants which may render this cleaning process unnecessary: firstly, because they do their job, as described above, even when applied in minimum quantities or in diluted form; secondly, because they are H1 or 3H approved by the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF), which means that they are certified for occasional contact with the food product.
The use of a single oil throughout the metal processing chain, i e, one that serves as both a lubricant and a release agent, offers considerably saving potential while at the same time enabling higher process reliability.
Furthermore, lubricant costs are reduced because only a very thin film thickness is enough to ensure the required function.
For this process, Kluber Lubrication offers, among others, the special oils Paraliq P 68 and Paraliq 91.
Paraliq P 68 has been tried and tested in numerous oil-lubricated friction points in the food-processing and pharmaceuticals industry, e g, gears, bearings, chains, spindles and joints.
Paraliq 91 was specifically developed for use as a baking and mould release agent in the baking and confectionery industry.
Both oils comply with DIN V 10517 'Lubricants Suitable for Use with Foodstuffs' and are registered as NSF H1, Paraliq 91 also as 3H.
NSF H1 and 3H lubricants are suitable for occasional contact with the food product as may be inevitable in the process, they are neutral in taste and odor and are degraded by the human organism without residues. Request a free brochure from Kluber Lubrication GB ...
