Latest bridge-type, vertical-spindle machining centre offers manufacturers in the aerospace and tool making sectors in particular a competitively priced production facility.

The latest bridge-type, vertical-spindle machining centre from the Spanish manufacturer, Kondia, represented in the UK by Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools, has a working envelope of X: 3000mm by Y: 1500mm by Z: 800mm Its size sets it apart from most of the competition and offers manufacturers in the aerospace and tool making sectors in particular a competitively priced production facility

Installed weight of 30 tonnes gives an indication of the machine's rigidity.

The HM-3015 provides spindle access to all four corners of the worktable.

Spindle power is 21kW for heavy metal removal rate, speed is in the range 100 - 8,000 rpm, and taper is ISO40 standard / 50 optional.

Rapid traverse of 20 m/min is fast for such a large machine.

Up to 40 tools of 6kg maximum weight, 250mm long, can be accommodated in the magazine.

Control is by either the Heidenhain TNC 426 or Fanuc 18iMA digital CNC systems, with ballscrew drive to the axes via digital servo drives.

Feedback from all linear axes is by Heidenhain linear scales, allowing positioning accuracy of 0.01mm with 0.008mm repeatability and resolution of 0.001mm.

A rotary fourth axis is available for machining complex workpieces in a single set-up.
